Pressure Valves and Protective Devices IV 10 and IV 11
- Description
- Features
Needle valves and multiport needle valves are used to isolate measuring instruments, like pressure gauges, switches, or transmitters, from the process they monitor. By closing these valves, the instruments can be safely removed for maintenance, such as recalibration or replacement. Some models have a vent connection, allowing the instrument to be vented to the atmosphere.
Multiport needle valves come with two extra connections that can serve as vents or for attaching other instruments. These valves feature a non-rotating spindle tip, which reduces wear on the sealing elements, extending the valve’s service life, especially with frequent operation. Additionally, their blow-out proof design enhances safety in high-pressure applications.
The natural gas model IV1N includes a metering valve, allowing for both instrument shut-off and flow control. WIKA also offers professional assembly of valves and pressure measuring instruments into a ready-to-install setup, and they conduct leak tests to ensure the system’s integrity.
Applications
- Shut off and vent pressure measuring instruments
- For gaseous and liquid aggressive media that are not highly viscous or crystallising, also in aggressive environments
- Process industry: Oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical industries, power generation, water and wastewater
Special features
- Low-wear design due to non-rotating spindle tip in the bonnet
- Low torque and smooth operation of valve handle even at high pressure
- Enhanced safety due to blow-out proof bonnet design
- Valve seat tested for leak tightness per BS 6755 / ISO 5208 leak rate A
- Customer-specific combination of valves and instruments (instrument hook-up) on request
